RPG competition
Y is Guild Wars better then other RPGs? What separates it from Everquest, WarCraft, Asheron's Call, or even Morrowind?

Im my oppinion Guild Wars is a different game than Everquest, and pretty much of the MMORPG, because it's using a very different system.
first of all you can play with everyone you want, you don't have to choose a specific server and stick your char to that server and make a new one to play with one of your friend on another server. Second they also make the difference by avoiding annoying stuff you see in the other mmorpg, such as Monster spawn camp.. ( which was pretty ugly imo ) with the instanced server it's impossible. Also the competition in PvP is also better than the other mmorpg. 8 skills max, no uber tank with all the skills and ready for every sitiation, it's all about strategy and playing as a team. Also with the 20 lvl cap (and the lvl requirement in pvp arena ) make it so you will never see a lvl 60 guy taking a poor lvl 15 guy. and there is a lot of more stuff i prefer in GW than any mmorpg, of course there is downside to this game but in overall GW win ( imo again ) on all mmorpg i'v played so far ( played a couple also ^^ ) |

stop with the ...... it's the same as a bump and the mods get very mad when people bump for no reason!
and to answer the question, i don't get PKed XD and no huge amounts of farming, so those of us who are not hard core gamers can still play and not suck. |

GW is not an MMORPG. It is an "action" RPG/FPSish kind of game. The others, Everquest, WoW and such are true MMORPGs.

LOL, won't happen again Your breaking the forum rules by bumpin/replying to posts with complete rubbish and your lack of English and basic grammar. This is not a freaking chat room so speak English for the love of god! Do you spell "guys" like "guyz" in school? If so I think you teacher should slap you up side the head. My bad guy(s)......Or should I say... The inapropriateness of my improper speach and tone of the English language was completely and utterly absurd, and I shall refrain from using such nonsense talk in the Guild Wars chatrooms. For all of those people I offended or infuriated with five little dots, please note that I clearly state in this amendment, or rather contraction, that I meant no harm....lol....I mean...laughing out loud

As a soon-to-be high school teacher, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that, Firebat. It made my morning. And made me sad that corporal punishment is frowned upon these days

What seperates Guild Wars from WoW, Everquest, Lineage I & II etc.
1. Guild Wars is a COORPG ( new tactics, new system and so on ) 2. This one does a big sence. For example, it doesn't matter if you have the "best" or the "coolest" armor. It's about skill, true skill like in "Counter-Strike" 3. Better graphic 4. More realistic 5. etc... |

Guild Wars certainly has by far the best graphics of all current MMO games out there. It has the same "realistic" graphics as Everquest (as opposed to the more cartoony World of Warcraft), but is simply much more vibrant and alive than Everquest.
I am running Guild Wars on a mid-range video card (ATI Radeon Mobility 9600 on a laptop), but even on this, Guild Wars look so much better than every other game I've ever seen (on Console or PC). |
